NorthStar Counseling Group provides a range of therapeutic services designed to meet the individual needs of our clients.

Psychotherapy is at the heart of the services we provide. Length and frequency of treatment is determined between the provider and the client. Services provided include: individual, couples, and family counseling services. Modalities for treatment include: short and long term counseling, CBT, crisis intervention, EMDR, and strengths based psychotherapy.
Clients who utilize NorthStar Counseling services seek treatment for many varying reasons. Some, but not all of the the reasons people seek therapy include: depression, anxiety, obsessive thinking, marital discord, parenting, co-parenting, blended families, aging, drug and alcohol issues, pain management, loss, communication difficulties, work stress, relationship difficulties, gender identity, sexual orientation, feelings expression, setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, self esteem, trauma, and anger management.
Therapy services are provided at our Mundelein office in a warm and welcoming environment. Each office is designed to provide a comfortable and safe space to do the work of therapy. The confidentiality of those we serve is of the utmost importance to NSCG. We strive to offer an environment free of distraction where clients know that they are safe to express and explore thoughts and feelings that they may not do outside of the therapeutic setting.

Office hours vary by clinician. We work to accommodate the scheduling needs of those we serve. There are day, evening and weekend hours available.

We are also trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing). This is a psychological method for treating emotional difficulties that are caused by disturbing life experiences. EMDR can be used to treat traumatic events such as accidents, assaults, illness, natural disasters, and upsetting childhood experiences. Additionally, it has been reported that it can be helpful in the treatment of anxiety and depression.
